Graphic Design

Since the age of eight, I have always been obsessed with drawing because my father is a professional illustrator. in middle school, I was also introduced to photo shop through him. I have been using it for creative projects since then and I made my first T shirt design and mock up when I was 17. It started for my outdoors club at school, but it has evolved into unimaginable opportunities. Sadly, some of these opportunities involve NDAs too.

The most lucrative graphic design projects were with artist merchandise as that was my sole income for a while. Please skip to the black section below if you are interested.

Talat Market

Talat Market is a high end thai restaurant that commissions me to do the artwork for their halloween event every year. Below are the past flyers and T shirts for the halloween events in 2024 and 2025.

This event is a honky tonk, so the artwork is a spooky twist on western aesthetics. All illustrations are also hand drawn by me. I handle the flyer that is posted to their instagram that has a big following/ community. All artworks are set up for printing and sharing by me as well.

Artist Merchandise

Eyedress Merchandise

Eyedress is an artist from the Philippines that is known for his indie pop that gained lots of popularity in 2020 , and he is now signed to the major label RCA. I worked on a team with him and Chris who was his manager and my roommate. With our prior teamwork, we decided to take a new approach to our work; we just had fun with it. The first design I did for Eyedress was something we made when we were hanging out in his bedroom, and when released, the design sold well over 50 pieces in hours and soldout quickly; we also took the approach of making memes to promote the merch which also helped sales.

Process

Chris and I hand screen printed all of the hoodies on blanks that we ordered to our apartment . We owned a 4 color screen printing press where we: coated and burned all screens, registered the 3 color job; printed upwards of 60 hoodies; and also set the plastisol ink the with a heat flash. It was a surreal experience working with an up and coming artist that ended up signing to a major deal. we sold over 200 units of all the items together. Chris and I also handled the merch at shows, but I chose to not tour with them when they traveled.

Slug Christ is an artist from Atlanta that now lives in Los Angeles. He has developed a devoted support system, since 2015, within the underground rap scene. We got connected through a friend who used to handle his merchandise. As a team, we understood each other and communicated well; in addition to being determined to put out some good products, so these merchandise project were successful for many reasons. We did two merch drops, one in Fall 2019 and the other in Fall 2022, and we are privileged enough to continue working on another release.

This collection is themed off of Americore Aesthics with a classic red tee and gas station-grade baseball hat.

The shirt design is inspired by the Atlanta Braves artwork and Louisville Slugger branding. We wanted to release a fun spin on our hometown baseball team due to its iconic personal connection to us and his fanbase. For the back design, we chose to have the angel number 567 because it represents a sign of positive progress, spiritual awakening and advancement on all levels.

For the hat design, we chose to go with a fun play on the common Jesus hat that can be found at a Truckstop. The idea for the design is that it is initially misperceived as a trucker hat, when it is actually a special and specific artist merch piece. The inquisitions act as a playful way to mess with people and also bring attention to the piece.

As a driven graphic designer, I go through EVERY option and provide with lots of updates and communications to ensure that I am doing the best job I can. Above is a plethora of design drafts and ideas that evolved into the final product. My process can best be described as creating a message and then altering the ways it is perceived. This collection has yet to be relased, but it is my latest work, and we chose to wait until the Spring 2023.

Fall 2019

This was my first opportunity to work on a professional artist merchandise release, and I am grateful to report that the products sold over 100 units in total.

My roles in the drop were being the designer, assistant project manager, and customer service representative, and the website is still up at: https://slugchrist.bigcartel.com/

We sold the merch through an online pre-order and then sold remaining items, including samples, at shows. I also screen printed and designed the totes we sold. Slug Chirst has been an iconic underground rapper, so it was only appropriate that we fit the nihilistic aesthetics that the fans preferred.

Process

Coming up with the products was hard at first because there were so many ideas. I made so many designs, but only the strong survived. An example of a discarded design can be seen on the far right. The making of the candle was my favorite. I also learned the valuable lesson of triple checking your work before submitting it because I had to pay to remake the stickers for the candles after not noticing a typo. Additionally, I set up and did the whole tote print job on a screen I made from recycled wood.

Punkstar

This brand is managed by Nick Blanco and represented by the Goth Boi Clique who were very influential to underground music in the late twenty-teens. Nick managed Lil Tracy and has lots of work with Lil Peep who has grown to be a massive artist. We designed these hoodies for a Halloween drop, and they were meant to be printed by Dark Medicine. However, we stopped the project due to how I was overwhelmed after having my best friend pass away. Hand drawn illustrations and calligraphy for the project can be seen to the left, and some of the design options we sorted through are to the right.
